SLOPES
Helps growth and protects against erosion
LITE-NET Slope is ideal for embankment greening and erosion protection. They are installed above ground for the growth phase; for the permanent phase, they are installed underground.
For the initial planting of vegetation, the 100% biodegradable LITE-NET Bio1 or Bio5 variants are simply placed on the embankment surface, secured, and ideally irrigated by sprinklers. Since the large-area nonwoven fabric nets have a very high water storage capacity—six times that of coconut mats—the plants are optimally supplied with collected and stored rainwater.
According to studies conducted by the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna, this also improves the greening effect by 50%. The extremely flexible non-woven fabric nets adapt perfectly to the subsoil, forming a stable micro-relief parallel to the slopes and thus reducing erosion. Due to the good anchoring and therefore the high friction, it only needs to be fixed a little. In addition, the shape of the net is storm-resistant, unlike mats whichecouvrent toute la surface.
On steeper slopes, LITE-NET can be secured with standard ground hooks. Thanks to the meandering effect, water is stored much better than with standard full-surface nonwoven fabric mats, where water can drain directly. Plant growth is promoted by the direct sunlight, and additional plants can easily be placed in the gaps in the net.
According to research conducted by the Agricultural University of Vienna (BOKU):
- LITE-NET stores approximately twice as much water as a conventional coconut mat.
- After 24 hours, the non-woven net still contains approximately six times more water than the coconut mat. Six times more water in the non-woven net than in the coconut mat.
- The greening effect with LITE-NET is more than 50% higher than with the coconut mat variant.
- The patented green net is much more flexible than the coconut mat, so it adheres better to the slope surface and thus prevents erosion more effectively.
The new non-woven net can thus water young plants significantly more and more sustainably. Thanks to this optimized irrigation, plants grow much better on a LITE-NET embankment.

Permanent vegetation and irrigation
For long-term embankment revegetation, permanent LITE-NET Bio5 or PP variants are installed at root depth (approximately 10-15 cm for grass).
Thanks to improved plant growth and the fact that the roots grow through the openings in the net and anchor themselves to the net, the surface is stabilized over a large area. Water is distributed evenly throughout the network and stored near the roots.
For subsurface irrigation of embankments, BLUELITE-TUBE drip irrigation pipes protected by a fleece are laid directly over the LITE-NET installed at root depth, perpendicular to the direction of fall. With the BLUELITE-NET combination, embankments are irrigated efficiently, economically, and vandal-free, effectively, and without evaporation. Due to the open shape of the net, no slip surfaces are created; on the contrary, the stability of the embankments is maintained.

To quickly transport water flowing from the surface of slopes into the subsoil, LITE-STRIPS can be mixed into the soil. They also make the soil more air permeable, store water directly near the roots and stabilize the soil cover like tensile reinforcements..
