Due to climate change, we increasingly need trees as “air conditioning”. As summers become hotter and rain becomes less, many trees that have been planted – at great expense – are dying and have to be replanted – at great expense. In order to fully develop their effect – such as providing shade and reducing CO2 through biomass – trees must be large, old and protected. This can be achieved excellently with the LITE-NET TREE.
The LITE-NET is an underground supply and distribution net for air and water. In its function as a growth net, the prefabricated LITE-NET TREE Bio1 is wrapped around the root ball. It absorbs water at the surface into their voluminous structure and conducts it efficiently and extensively to the roots, like veins. When these extract the stored water as needed, air is drawn in from the surface.
This means that they are a simple and cost-effective replacement for the pipe systems that are currently used, without kinking, clogging or causing a chimney effect. The LITE-NET TREE is also ideal for draining rainwater deeper: most rainfall events are not very heavy, so the water only stays in the upper layer of soil, which increases root growth.
